I've got this window in my living room that's been jammed shut for months now, and honestly, it's driving me nuts. Tried giving it a good shove (probably not the smartest move, I know), but it won't budge an inch. I'm guessing it's painted shut or maybe swollen from humidity? Anyway, before I go full Hulk-mode and accidentally break the glass or something, figured I'd ask here first—anyone dealt with this kinda thing before?

Been there, done that—trust me, Hulk-mode rarely ends well for windows (or your wallet). Sounds like you're probably right about the paint or humidity. If it's painted shut, grab a utility knife or razor blade and carefully run it along the edges where the window meets the frame. Usually, that's enough to break the paint seal without causing damage.

If humidity's the culprit, you might wanna wait for a dry day and see if it loosens up a bit. Wood swells when it's damp, and sometimes just waiting it out helps. If you're impatient (like me), you could try gently tapping around the frame with a rubber mallet or even a block of wood wrapped in a towel—just don't go full Thor on it.

One more thing: check if there's any hardware or locks you might've overlooked. Sounds silly, but I've seen folks wrestle with windows only to realize later they missed a hidden latch or something. Good luck, and may your window-opening adventures be glass-shatter-free...
