Had a little mishap with the lawn mower yesterday and now there's a pretty noticeable crack in my living room window. Can't get it replaced right away, so here's what I did for now: cleaned the area around the crack, applied clear packing tape on both sides (inside and out), and smoothed it down real good to keep moisture out. Seems okay-ish for now, but anyone got better tricks or tips that might hold up longer?

You're on the right track with the tapeβdone that myself a few times. If you want something a bit sturdier, clear nail polish can help seal smaller cracks pretty well. Won't win any beauty contests, but it'll hold up surprisingly long. Good luck!
